Biscuits and gravy is one of my absolute FAVORITE breakfasts! For this version, I wanted to lighten up my traditional family recipe (just so I didn’t feel so sluggish after eating). You can serve this over biscuits, toast, an omelette... whatever you want!
I thought comparing the nutrition of both would be a fun idea! ♀️ NORMAL sausage gravy nutrition per serving: 633 calories, 24g protein, 18g carbs, and 52g fat *See the nutrition of my version below.*
If you compare the nutrition of these two recipes, you’ll see a HUGE difference! However, the taste is almost exactly the same - just ask the very truthful taste tester Austin ❗️SMALL changes in a recipe can make a BIG impact on nutrition without sacrificing any flavor!!

Ingredients:
½ lb Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage
½ lb lean ground turkey
1 tablespoon butter
¼ cup all purpose flour
2.5 cups skim milk
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon stevia
Directions:
1. Add sausage and ground turkey to a large pan and cook until done (about 10 mins), stirring often.
2. Add butter to pan with sausage and turkey and stir in until melted. Then sprinkle in flour and stir until evenly coated.
3. Add skim milk about ½ cup at a time, always stirring until completely absorbed. (If it seems too thin don’t worry, it will thicken as it cooks!) Then stir in stevia and Worcestershire sauce and allow to simmer for 2-4 mins. Serve over biscuits or toast and enjoy!
